The Museum holds the archival collection of The Citrus County Historical Society and the Citrus County Clerk of the Circuit Court. The Archives/Library is located on the First Floor of the Old Courthouse Heritage Museum, and is free to the public.
Through a partnership with the Board of County Commissioners, the Citrus County Clerk of Courts, and the Citrus County Historical Society, the Citrus County Archives and Special Collections will provide preservation and physical protection for historically valuable materials and make them available for research and education about the County and people of Citrus County, Florida. Citrus County Clerk of the Court Records:
The Clerk of the Court Records include documents such as land records, court records, marriage records, plat map records which may be view by visiting the Citrus County Clerk of the Circuit Court at our website www.clerk.citrus.fl.us.
Also housed in the Citrus County Archives are the Citrus County Property Appraiser, Tax Collector, and Supervisor of Election records.
The Citrus County Historical Society collection includes Citrus County Chronicles, photographs, maps, and oral histories.

The Museum's artifacts collection was formed, thanks to donations received from many individuals throughout the county and state. Please consider donating today!
The Historical Society's artifacts collection contains thousands of items from West Central Florida's past and includes some of the following categories and items:
- Fossils
- Pottery
- Tools
- Business Equipment
- Military uniforms and medals
- Quilts
- Wood Carvings
- Furniture, household items, and cooking utensils
- Citrus industry items
- Turpentine industry items
The Society collects materials that are used to interpret our West Central Gulf Coast area and Citrus County. It is through these generous donations that it is possible to tell the story of the people, places, and events that have shaped us.
