The Red Ribbon Historic Homes Tour is an event that allows the public to visit and experience the interior of some of Crystal River's oldest homes. Homeowners on and around the beautiful Crystal Street area will open their doors on the first Saturday in March to show off the hard work and labor of love that has gone into restoring much of the original integrity of their home.

The Crystal River Lions Club opens the doors of the old train depot to display photos and exhibits. A "country store" provides unique food items. Also on the tour is the Calvary Baptist Church - the oldest church in the City of Crystal River (originally the First Presbyterian Church). Visitors have expressed an interest in the council expanding the tour to the other side of U.S. Highway 19 in an area known as "Michigan Town," which will now include the Seminole Club, the Woman's Club and one or two of the original bungalow homes in this area.
The tour event takes place every year on the first Saturday in March from 10:00am to 4:00pm. The council is always looking for volunteers to help as docents/greeters and anyone interested can call the council at (352) 795-1755 for more information. Ticket price for the Red Ribbon Tour is $10.00 per person (children under 12 years free when accompanied by an adult).
The Coastal Heritage Museum is located at 532 Citrus Avenue, Crystal River (in the old City Hall building), and will be open from 10:00am to 4:00pm on the day of the Red Ribbon Historic Homes Tour. Admission to the museum is free.
