Thursday, March 25:
6:30 p.m. Motorcoach departs from Inverness Fairgrounds
7:15 a.m. Motorcoach departs from Meadowcrest Winn-Dixie
Rest stop and lunch stop along the way. Lunch on your own.
In the afternoon, you will arrive in Savannah and go to the Visitor’s Center, where you
will board a trolley for a ninety minute tour of Savannah. The trolley will also stop at
the historic Davenport House, where you will have a guided tour.
Then you will check into our hotel: Spring Hill Suites in midtown Savannah
Dinner this evening will be at the First City Club. Nestled among the tops of the
majestic live oaks in Johnson Square, First City Club is located in the heart of historic
downtown Savannah. The Club itself epitomizes the charm, elegance and sophistication
of the South, complete with southern hospitality-style service. You will enjoy a lavish
buffet dinner along with the view of Savannah from high above the city.
Friday, March 26
After breakfast at the hotel, you will board the motorcoach for a guided tour of
Tybee Island and Fort Pulaski, followed by an unforgettable lunch at the Crab Shack
(“where the elite eat in their bare feet”).
The motorcoach will then return to historic Savannah, where you will take part in
their annual “Tour Of Homes,” an event that brings in tourists from all over the
world. You’ll get to tour old Savannah homes which are not usually open to the public.
Dinner this evening will be at Mrs. Wilkes’ Boarding House, where you will dine family
style at this Savannah institution.
After dinner, you will travel to the Savannah Theater, where you will enjoy a musical
production called “Southern Nights,” two hours of high energy music, dance and
comedy, perfect for a southern evening. A little bit of country, a little bit of rock
and roll, plus some Broadway, jazz and pop, all in one hot production!
Saturday, March 27
After a deluxe continental breakfast at the hotel, we will visit St. John’s Cathedral, the FirstAfrican-American Baptist Churchand other Savannah sites. You will the have some time to visit
River Street and have lunch on your own before we depart for home.
*This trip includes round-trip luxury motorcoach transportation, one lunch, two dinners and two
breakfasts, two nights’ hotel stay, admission to all attractions, and gratuities for all included
meals.
COST: $415/per person with double occupancy or $510 single occupancy
*A deposit of $75/pp must be paid at time of reservation.The final payment will be due on February 1, 2009.
